Unclaimed Prize Goes To Charity
The news may be grim for one mystery Euromillions ticket holder in the UK today, but it couldn't be better for Euromillions Good Causes
A £1,000,000 Euro Millions prize has today gone to charitable causes. The prize was won by a Millionaire Raffle ticket on the 4th of November 2011, but nobody came forward to claim it. The six months waiting period has passed, and now the cash (plus any interest generated) has gone to good causes within the UK. The ticket was purchased in South Lanarkshire, Scotland and at 11pm on Wednesday the deadline for claiming the prize ended.
A spokersperson for Camelot said: “I can confirm that the ticket holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize, and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money” he continued “To avoid this situation happening again, I would urge all Lottery players to check their tickets on a regular basis. We have tried very hard to find the ticket holder and it's a real shame that they have missed out, but there is still one winner – the nation.”
There may even be a second Scottish winner missing out on the same prize! Another winning UK Millionaire Raffle ticket that was purchased in North Ayrshire expires in 19 days.
